Present Perfect Tense – Απλός Παρακείμενος
Ο Present Perfect είναι χρόνος που αναφέρεται στο παρόν (present).
Τον χρησιμοποιούμε:
- Για να περιγράψουμε μια πράξη που τελείωσε μόλις τώρα (just).
He has just finished his homework.
Στα ελληνικά συνήθως χρησιμοποιούμε τον Αόριστο.
- Για να περιγράψουμε μια πράξη που έγινε στο παρελθόν, αλλά δεν αναφέρουμε ή δεν μας ενδιαφέρει ο χρόνος που έγινε η πράξη.
I have met the Queen of England.
- Για να περιγράψουμε μια πράξη ή κατάσταση που άρχισε στο παρελθόν και συνεχίζεται στο παρόν.
My brother has been in Athens for ten years.
My brother has been in Athens since 2010.
I have worked in this company for 2 years.
I have worked in this company since 2018.
Στα ελληνικά συνήθως χρησιμοποιούμε τον Ενεστώτα.
- Για να περιγράψουμε μια ή περισσότερες πράξεις που έγιναν μέσα σε μια χρονική περίοδο, που αρχίζει από το παρελθόν και φτάνει ως το παρόν.
It has rained twice this week.
I have been to the theatre 8 times this year.
I have never visited Italy.
This is the best cake I have ever eaten (in my life).
** Προσέξτε τη διαφορά με τον Simple Past:
– Have you seen George recently?
– Yes, I have.
– When did you see him?
– I saw him yesterday.
I have just seen George.
I saw George just now.
I have written three letters this morning. (it is still morning)
I wrote three letters this morning. (its is now afternoon)
** since – for
Το since (από) χρησιμοποιείται όταν ορίζουμε το χρόνο που άρχισε η πράξη στο παρελθόν και δείχνουμε ότι ακόμα συνεχίζεται.
I have been here since 2000.
Το for (για, εδώ και) χρησιμοποιείται για να περιγράψουμε τη διάρκεια της πράξης.
I have been here for an hour.
** Όταν μας ενδιαφέρει περισσότερο η διάρκεια της πράξης μπορούμε να χρησιμοποιούμε και τον Present Perfect Continuous (have been + ing).
My father has been working since 8 o’clock this morning.
I have been learning English for 4 years.
** Το ελληνικό “πόσο καιρό – how long” ή “από πότε – since when” ακολουθείται από Ενεστώτα. Στα Αγγλικά όμως χρησιμοποιούμε Παρακείμενο.
How long have you been here?
Since when have you worked for this company?
** have gone to – have been to – have been in
– Where is your father?
-He has gone to work. (he isn’t here)
I have been to Rome once. (I’m here now, not in Rome)
I have been in this village since 2000. (I’m still here)
